About this producer:
Situated near the Roman town of Frejus, at the edge of a protected forest
& the foot of the red rocked, volcanic Esterel mountains, lies the estate
founded in 1888. On this wooded, gravelly & acidic terroir, six
generations have succeeded one another in improving & mastering the
vines and vinification techniques that give aroma & character to their
wines. Matthieu Savatier takes great pride in this heritage as he now
carries the “red” torch. He has put his mark on the wines, letting the
specific character and typicity of each varietal shine. Under his care the
estate’s Rosés have exploded in both quality and prominence.
"I did not have to decide to open the gates of the vineyard, my ancestors
had made that choice naturally and wanted to share its beauty with wine
enthusiasts, strollers, and tourists from around the world. Continuing in
the same spirit, I have expanded this hospitality to include weddings,
seminars, and various festivities. Wine is thus part of the celebration,
sharing its “raison d'être”... Isn't that its primary vocation?"-Matthieu
Savatier.
