About this producer:

Located in the country side 16 miles South of Saint Émilion, in the Entre-Deux-Mers region, the little town where the Comin Family’s estate lies has less than 100 residents, but 746 acres of vines! The estate of La Commanderie de Queyret dates back to the 13th Century, with Claude Comin taking the helm in 1968. The quality of the wine dramatically improved, gaining critical acclaim and Claude began to acquire neighboring vineyards little by little. He now owns 240 of the 746 acres. With a natural approach to viticulture, he plants the majority of his vineyards in Merlot, the main red varietal of the region. His vineyards are grown on a low plateau surrounded by rolling hills, which have fine sand and silt and weathered limestone giving excellent drainage. The vines for this wine are 35 years old with low yields to provide great structure for the wine. The Chateau is small enough to deliver high quality, but large enough to offer value in a Merlot based wine.
